Lynn Russell

FROM THE BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY OF PRIITIVE OR OLD SCHOOL BAPTIST MINISTERS BY DAVID MONTGOMERY AND MARK GREEN:

ELDER LYNN and SISTER FAYE RUSSELL

Born August 18, 1936 at Abilene, Texas, the only living child of Claude and Oma Russell. I was raised in a loving, Godly home and carried to church all my childhood. I have loved the Lord as long as I can remember and would pray over my sins as a child. I remember an old elder, laying his hand on my head and saying that I would be a preacher. He knew it before I did! At seventeen, I joined the church on Sunday at the West Texas Association at Anton as a member for the Muleshoe Church. I was baptized by Elder E. J. Norman in the baptistry at Anton. I still remember that happy day!

In 1964, I married Faye Foutch, a P. B. from Smithville, TN. Faye is a wonderful blessing and drives us many miles since I became legally blind in 1988. It was my happy privilege to baptize our sons Tim and Dan and see them active in church. My ordination was at Mt. View P. B. Church, Smithville, TN on October 30, 1971. I have pastored Goshen Church at Linden, TN and currently pastor West Fifth St. P. B. Church in Dickson, TN. I have found a rich blessing in the love that is manifested among all true Primitive Baptists.
